Toledo’s Fourth in the 419 to feature weeklong festivities, and fireworks

Fourth in the 419 will be a multi-day downtown celebration leading up to US Independence Day on July 4th.

Downtown Toledo is taking one of the most exciting nights of the year and stretching it into seven straight days of nonstop entertainment and family fun, beginning on June 28, 2019 and capping it off with the Fourth in the 419 fireworks display high above the Maumee River on July 4.

The multi-day festivities will feature multiple downtown concerts, six Mud Hens games with three postgame fireworks shows, and many family-friendly events and activities at Imagination Station, Metroparks Toledo, National Museum of the Great Lakes, and more.

The Toledo Mud Hens will kick off the multi-day celebration with a Military Appreciation themed game on Friday, June 28, with the team wearing special edition Toledo Stingers jerseys in honor of our local 180th Fighter Wing.

World-class F1 powerboat racing returns to Toledo on June 29, 2019 at Rock the River Toledo at Promenade Park.  And on July 4, the City of Toledo will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic Jess Willard vs. Jack Dempsey fight with a recreation of the world-famous fight at Detwiler Park.

A full list of events can be found at www.fourthinthe419.com.

“The city of Toledo is really excited about the Fourth in the 419. This will be an incredible seven days of fun for our community and I want to thank all of our partners and the downtown businesses helping to make this happen,” Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said.

“We hope this will be a record-breaking year for attendance downtown at Toledo’s Independence Day festivities.”  The Fourth in the 419 comes to a roaring finish on July 4 with Toledo’s fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m. from International Park, along the Maumee River.

The display will be synchronized to music and broadcast by iHeartRadio on 101.5 The River (WRVFFM). Promenade Park, and Hensville Park will host free public viewing parties with live entertainment leading up to the fireworks show.

Fleetwood’s Tap Room, Holy Toledo Tavern, and The Heights at Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel will hold rooftop viewing parties and Imagination Station will offer a riverfront viewing party at the H2O Café patio. The event will be held, rain or shine. “We are thrilled to play a part in this exciting event and look forward to welcoming many visitors to our community,” said Carla Nowak, President and CEO of Destination Toledo.

“We are certain to ‘wow’ guests with the impressive line-up of events and activities planned out for families,” added Nowak.
